The Bucharest National Opera Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Daniel Jinga, alongside soprano Anita Hartig, tenor Ștefan Pop, and baritone Ștefan Ignat, performed on Thursday, September 4, the gala concert “Stars of the Romanian Opera in Osaka”, held at the National Day Hall – “Ray Garden” within the World Expo in Japan.
The renowned Romanian artists offered the audience an exceptional program, featuring works by Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, George Enescu, Tiberiu Brediceanu, and Dan Dediu, the latter of whom was present at the performance. The musical moments were met with prolonged applause, confirming the success of the performance on the international stage and once again demonstrating the high level of Romanian operatic art.
The event, whose tickets had sold out in advance, brought together over 800 spectators and international personalities, including Masakazu Yamada – Vice President of the Osaka City Council, Hiroyuki Ishige – Secretary General of the Expo 2025 Osaka Association, Koji Haneda – Commissioner General of Expo 2025, Manatsu Ichinoki – Deputy Secretary General, Hiroshi Ueda – former Ambassador of Japan to Romania, and Raluca Turcan, former Minister of Culture and current Member of the Romanian Parliament, as well as numerous general commissioners and officials from participating countries.
“Today’s concert represents a celebration of art, creativity, and dialogue between cultures. Through the power of opera and symphonic music, we aim for the international audience to discover both the richness of our cultural heritage and the creative strength of the contemporary Romanian operatic scene," stated Ferdinand Nagy, Commissioner General of the Romania Pavilion, during the opening of the gala event.
The Bucharest National Opera Orchestra will continue to hold recitals and concerts at the Romania Pavilion on September 5, 6, and 7, offering visitors a unique musical experience.
