The Romania Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka welcomed on Friday, September 5, 2025, Mr. Kazuhiko Koshikawa, Commissioner General of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2027 in Yokohama, an event organized under the auspices of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
The Japanese official congratulated the Commissioner General of the Romanian Section, Ferdinand Nagy, for the success of the national pavilion in Osaka and reiterated Romania’s invitation to participate in Expo 2027 Yokohama, thus confirming the continuity of international cooperation. The horticultural exhibition will take place from March 19 to September 26, 2027, on a 100-hectare site, with participation from over 80 countries and an expected attendance of more than 15 million visitors.
On the same day, the Romania Pavilion had the honor of receiving Mr. Nobuhiko Yamaguchi, Vice Governor of Osaka Prefecture, accompanied by his team.
The guest attended the activities prepared within the Pavilion, including a performance by talented artists from the Faculty of Music at Transilvania University of Brașov, who performed pieces from the Romanian musical repertoire, as well as a visit to the creative zone dedicated to arts and crafts, where he interacted with ceramicist Ioana Deak, expressing his delight at the similarities between Romanian and Japanese artisanal traditions.
The Vice Governor of Osaka Prefecture highlighted the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the pavilion and the interactive way in which visitors are invited to discover Romania. Through these official visits, Romania strengthens its international presence and visibility, promoting the exchange of experiences and intercultural dialogue at world exhibitions.
